Kalmar skatepak is located in activity park Norrlidskapren and is an addition to a range of activites for all generations. The skatepark involves functions for both beginners and more experienced skaters as well as other wheel sport users It is designed as two separate areas and is adapted to the surrounding terrain and existing trees. First area is designed as a flow area ending with an open bowl with two ends merged together with a spine. The flow area is pushed into the existing hill which is resembled in the shape of a letter C. Along the outer edge of the flow part runs a paved strip with “relaxation pockets” furnished with benches for relaxation that offer a good overview over the park. Second area is designed as a street line that is connected to the flow area on the south and then continues to the east side with platform featuring variety of street element. There is also public lighting allowing the use in the evening hours. Local action sport community also demanded a place for a container where they can store all the equipment for their daily activities such as skate school etc.
